Sally comes to Independence Administrators from Independence Blue Cross, where she has worked for the past 14 years, most recently as the manager of Premier National Accounts. “In the last five years, I was given the opportunity to implement and manage an initiative focused on self-funded national account growth. My work in developing this initiative resulted in significant growth and retention in Independence Blue Cross’s national accounts.” A strong, customer-centric culture Employer groups are challenged with providing their employees a comprehensive benefit program that is competitive. According to Sally, “it’s important that employer groups have the right options to meet their needs. Historically, small and mid-sized [employer groups] have had few options to help them control their health care dollar spend, and limited information to identify opportunities to implement solutions. With LEAP technology, we will be introducing a new suite of reporting tools that identify opportunities for each client. The new reporting suite, paired with other new and unique programs, will provide our customers with choices that can help them in positive ways.” Employer groups want to play a valuable role in managing expenses through self-funded plans, Sally says. “Locally and nationally we have seen a transition from fully insured to self-funded solutions for employer groups in the smaller employee threshold.” A positive effect on group’s health care spending “Our team will be meeting with each of our clients this year to gain a better understanding of our customers’ short and long term goals,” she says. This information, along with data analytics, will “help us partner with our customers to develop measurable, positive strategies that directly align with our customer’s organizational focus.”
