Thank you for selecting a HDHP
|
This email provides time-sensitive information about your spending account services with Independence Blue Cross. You will also be receiving a package in the mail shortly that provides additional links and resources.
Thank you for choosing to offer a qualified high-deductible health plan (HDHP) with Independence Blue Cross. Your employees will have quality health care coverage from Independence Blue Cross, with the option of a new, enhanced health savings account (HSA) from Bank of America.
If you do not currently make direct contributions (payroll deductions or employer contributions) for your employees and do not plan to make contributions in the new plan year, there is nothing more you need to do. Employees who enroll in the qualified plan will automatically have HSAs opened for them.
If you do make contributions on behalf of your employees and are moving to Bank of America, we would like to make you aware of a few important steps in the transition.
Steps to successfully transition to the new health savings account (HSA)
Before Plan Renewal
-
Return the Employer Portal User Access Request Form. If you are a new portal user, you will receive login information via email. If you are an existing portal user you will have expanded access to spending accounts at plan renewal (or in 2 business days if you submit the form after renewal).
-
Review the HSA Contribution Guide. Determine how you plan to transmit HSA contributions by reviewing our HSA Contribution Guide.
After Plan Renewal
-
Complete Spending Account Setup on the Employer Portal. Log on ibxpress.com to finalize your spending account setup, including any banking information for contributions.
-
Confirm Employee Accounts Using Online Reporting. Online reports allow you to quickly see who has opened accounts.
-
Make Your First HSA Contribution. Once employees have accounts open, you can begin making contributions. Our HSA Contribution Guide and dedicated HSA contributions team can provide any additional assistance you may need. Remember, the spending account tab on the employer portal, ibxpress.com, is your key resource for managing HSA contributions.
We remain committed to driving excellence in health care for our customers. Please direct any HSA questions to your producing agent or Independence Blue Cross account executive. If you have any questions regarding the employer portal, we have created a FAQ or please call 1-800 ASK-BLUE.
As always, we value your business and look forward to serving you in good health for years to come.
