Telework is strongly encouraged as state activities gradually reopen

As Philadelphia progresses to a gradual reopening, and restrictions are lifted on returning to workplaces and select social activities, Independence Blue Cross will continue to proceed with caution. Following the state guidelines for phased‑in approaches to reopening various businesses and social settings, continued telework remains “strongly encouraged” to promote social distancing during COVID‑19, where possible.

Based on our clinical assessment, as well as state and local guidance and additional considerations, we are not yet to return to our offices and conduct in-person meetings. We will remain “open for business” with associates continuing to work remotely and with all key business functions fully operational. Business as usual is being conducted in a virtual fashion — processing claims, handling member and broker calls, providing support from nurses and health coaches, and maintaining our systems. We will also continue to conduct virtual meetings with our customers, brokers, consultants, and other key business partners until further notice.

We know there are many questions during this challenging time, and we want you to know we are here for you and your members. We will continue to monitor the situation in each of our locations and work to keep you informed of our reentry plans.
