Introducing our 2021 Blue Solutions® portfolio

We’re pleased to share details with you about our 2021 Blue Solutions portfolio for small (2 – 50) employers.

We use competitive intelligence, market and enrollment trends, and feedback from key stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive and innovative suite of products and solutions that meets the unique needs of small businesses.

What’s new for 2021

For 2021, we have made several enhancements to our Blue Solutions portfolio to empower members to stay healthier and save money:

New and enhanced virtual care solutions

Providing members with alternatives to in‑person visits for health care is more important than ever. Blue Solutions health plans already cover telemedicine and telebehavorial health visits. For 2021, we’ve enhanced our virtual care services to continue to make it even more cost‑effective and convenient for members to access care. All Blue Solutions health plans now feature:

  • $0 cost‑share for telemedicine services through MDLIVE
  • $0 cost‑share for telebehavioral health services through Magellan and MDLIVE [NEW]
  • $0 cost‑share for teledermatology services through MDLIVE [NEW]

Members can continue to access telemedicine services through network doctors and specialists that offer them and pay their health plan’s cost‑share.

New Achieve Well‑being rewards and enhanced reimbursements

Our personalized Achieve Well‑being tools and Healthy LifestylesSM reimbursements encourage members to take small steps to make big changes in their health. The following 2021 enhancements give members extra motivation to reach their personal health goals:

  • We added rewards to our Achieve Well‑being program. Subscribers have the opportunity to earn a $150 gift card for completing required activities like getting preventive care and opting into digital messaging.
  • Members can also now submit the cost of virtual subscriptions towards their Healthy Lifestyles fitness reimbursement.

New solutions to help protect your employees’ financial well‑being

We offer several solutions to help members protect their financial well‑being and give employers new ways to attract and retain talent. Introduced in 2019, The College Tuition Benefit® allows subscribers to earn Tuition Rewards® points to help pay for higher education for eligible family members.

To complement The College Tuition Benefit, we are now offering GradFin. Employees and their families can take advantage of GradFin’s student loan debt reduction solutions to help select the right student loans and repay them faster so they can save money for the future.

The College Tuition Benefit and GradFin are included in all Blue Solutions health plans at no additional cost.

Lowering costs, giving members more choice

When we design our Blue Solutions portfolio each year, we look for ways to provide employers and members with even more value and to continue to reverse rising health care cost trends. We’ve made several enhancements across the portfolio for 2021 to help give members more choice, savings, and convenience:

  • Low‑cost generics are available at a reduced copay in all plans
  • Most copay plans feature a lower cost‑share for urgent care visits
  • Members have the option to use their in‑network frame or contact lens allowance at popular online retailers Glasses.com and 1800Contacts.com
  • Our Deluxe and Premier Family PPO dental plans now have a $3,000 annual maximum to help members stretch their dental dollars further

2021 renewal and sales materials

Current customers will receive a renewal package with recommended plans that offer premium savings. Please note: We are discontinuing our Blue Solutions Personal Choice PPO Gold HSA‑25 $2,600/80% health plan. Customers with this plan will receive a recommended alternative in their renewal package.
