There's too much to describe it all, but here are highlights of some things we're working on.

Vox Pop Open Session
One exciting innovation will be this user-directed session. During the conference we'll gather your ideas about topics you want to discuss, and then facilitate an agenda driven exclusively by users. It's an approach that's ideal for advanced users who want deep-dive technology interactions.

Complex Event Processing (CEP) with PI for StreamInsight
StreamInsight is the new Complex Event Processing (CEP) platform from Microsoft. Developers using Microsoft .NET framework and the embedded query language (LINQ) can develop and deploy CEP applications. PI for StreamInsight is a new product which enables access to PI System data from the Microsoft StreamInsight engine, empowering complex analyses and computations. Includes code examples.

Programming with Event Frames
Event Frames organizes time-series data using time periods that are significant to your process, such as downtimes, environmental excursions and batches. This presentation will describe the latest features in the updated Event Frames Community Technology Preview (CTP) included in PI AF 2010.

PI Server 2010—AF Inside
Do you still work with MDB? PI Asset Framework (AF) enables users to define and create a consistent representation of assets or processes and associate data according to physical objects or properties in their processes. These asset models are flexible, can be built from templates and allow grouping or hierarchical models similar to those in the Module Database (MDB). The PI Asset Framework (AF) plays an integral role in PI System 2010 as the PI System becomes less focused on PI tags and more focused on user-centric AF Elements. PI Server 2010 integrates Module Database (MDB) and AF Database by keeping the two databases continuously synchronized.

You will also see how the MDB to AF synchronization works, the performance and scalability of the synchronization process, how to migrate MDB-based applications to AF, what is needed to upgrade, and recommended architectures and considerations for deploying PI Server 2010.

New Data Access products: Broadening Web Service Access through REST and OData
We'll have a session to introduce two important concepts in web service technologies: REST and RESTful services. We will present the Open Data (OData) protocol—it can help to share data from heterogeneous sources which would normally not be connected. Participants will have a say in shaping OSIsoft's Data Access products roadmap—we want to learn what you think of OData and accessing PI System data via OData. This talk will include practical code samples to help get started creating RESTful services.

Live! Pub Night
After all the work is done on Tuesday night, we're going to have our very own Live! Pub-and it will be lively! We'll cut loose and enjoy a great evening of great food, your choice of beverages, and games that only a geek could love!   Join Us on Pub Night!

Meet Geek Dad Author Ken Denmead
We asked blogger and engineer Ken Denmead—he's the author of Geek Dad: Awesomely Geeky Projects and Activities for Dads and Kids to Share—to join us at the opening reception for a special signing. Each attendee gets a special conference edition of his book and will meet the author during cocktails. In case you haven't heard, Geek Dad is the ultimate DIY project guide for techie dads raising kids in their own geeky image—and it fits perfectly with the theme of OSIsoft vCampus Live! 2010: "Where PI Geeks Meet...To Turn Challenges into Solutions."
