AmeriHealth New Jersey plans transition to new operating platform
|
Change in the health care industry is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. To meet the challenges of tomorrow, AmeriHealth New Jersey launched a multi‑year technology strategy to insource key pieces of our technology over the last five years, including portals for our members, providers, and brokers, as well as our customer service platform.

The next phase of this strategy is the transition of our core business to the HealthRules operating platform. This transition will result in a common next-generation operating platform for all of Independence Health Group’s lines of business (except Medicaid).

Greater flexibility, agility for our clients and members
|
As the health care landscape continues to evolve, we need a flexible and agile platform to respond to clients’ emerging needs and business challenges. A common platform across all our lines of business allows us to achieve better scale and operate more efficiently, which translates to operational efficiency that benefits clients. The HealthRules platform also allows AmeriHealth New Jersey to better meet customer needs outside of existing product lines and geographies.

Our customers will benefit from improved capabilities, faster speed to market, and greater flexibility as we transition to a common platform. Many digital touchpoints, including our member and provider portals, will remain the same before and after the transition. This will help ensure a smooth migration and the best possible member experience.

HealthRules offers market‑leading solutions
|
The HealthRules platform is already fully integrated, demonstrating value and delivering on its promises to members and clients through our third party administrator lines of business. For more than five years, Independence Health Group has been servicing 385 clients and 800,000 members on the HealthRules platform. HealthRules continues to gain accolades and traction in the market. Most recently, HealthRules was named “Best in KLAS” for claims administrative processing earlier this year.

Details and timing for the transition

This transition will be spearheaded by AmeriHealth New Jersey’s senior leadership team and will be given the most critical attention. It will be staged over multiple years to ensure a positive experience for our customers and members. More detailed information about how and when clients will transition to the HealthEdge platform will be communicated over the next year.
