As more doses of vaccines are being delivered to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia, more vaccine appointments are becoming available. Independence has begun to make outreach to certain commercial members to help schedule vaccine appointments.

Members receiving outreach are in priority groups and reside in counties where we are working with providers on vaccine awareness and delivery. Members are being prioritized for outreach based on age, health conditions, and social risk factors. Members may be contacted either via email, text, or phone call from Independence Blue Cross.

At the current time, this process is on an outreach‑only basis, and we will not be able to accommodate requests for specific members to be connected to a vaccine site for an appointment. We appreciate your patience with this evolving process, as we all eagerly look forward to everyone having the opportunity to get vaccinated. As more vaccine doses become available and our strategy changes, we will share more information.
