To reinforce the importance of the integrated medical and prescription drug benefit, the FutureScripts name is being retired. This was previously announced in early 2022. This change is planned to go into effect on January 1, 2023.

You may have already noticed updates in materials to remove references to FutureScripts. Other changes, as outlined below, will continue to be implemented for the 2023 benefit year. There will not be any change to the member experience, benefits, customer service numbers, or BIN/PCN numbers.

ID cards

Effective 9/26/2022, any new or reissued Independence Blue Cross (Independence) ID cards will no longer display the FutureScripts logo on the back of the ID card. The Pharmacy Benefits number listed on the back of the ID card will remain and will stay the same.

Effective 11/1/2022, any new or reissued Independence Administrators ID cards will no longer display the FutureScripts logo on the back of the ID card. The Pharmacy Benefits number listed on the back of the ID card will remain and will stay the same.

For large group business only: ID cards for both Independence and Independence Administrators clients will only be reissued without the FutureScripts logo as the result of a benefit change, a member requesting a new ID card, or at the discretion of the client through the standard process.

Futurescripts.com
|

The Futurescripts.com website will be retired to support unbranding efforts. All content that is currently on Futurescripts.com will be available on the IBX provider site starting 1/1/2023. The Futurescripts.com site will remain active into 2023 with information around the retirement, and we will monitor traffic before it is taken down.

Other changes
|
|
Other materials that are being created or updated to remove references to FutureScripts as a result of the unbranding include: member letters, open enrollment collateral, email and Wire (text) messaging, the member portal, sales collateral, provider communications, proposals/RFPs, and forms.
