Joining real estate professionals from across SEA & NEA, the Yardi team presented at some of the industry’s leading forums for property, asset and investment executives.

At APREA, with the theme “seeking alpha in an age of disruption”, guests were treated to a broad look at the global implications of the speed of change – from the post-Brexit “new normal” to the “fourth industrial revolution” of digital technology, and the alternative real estate assets emerging against the traditional local markets in Asia.

RECon’s event, which is the pre-eminent forum for the shopping centre industry in the region, saw hundreds of delegates gather to learn about the issues and opportunities facing the industry in Asia.

Looking at the disruption facing shopping malls and shoppers themselves, the event focused on the future of retail – discussing emerging techniques being used to better measure and monitor shopping center performance, major demographics, economic and urbanization trends which are driving retail consumption and shopping center development and performance in the region.

Bernie Devine, Regional Director for Asia, presented on “Positioning Malls for Success In a Rapidly Changing Environment”. At an intimate setting, Bernie discussed tenant retention and engagement, with a focus on services, communication and robust process.

At ANREV we were privileged to be part of 300 senior professionals examining the latest regional trends that will affect the Asian non-listed property funds industry, as we explored the theme " Asian real estate – stability and growth in a volatile world". The event provided an important forum for discussion around the future of the industry, and looked in detail at:

• The Seventh Sense: Power, Fortune and Survival in the Age of Networks
• Investing in Gateway cities: the impact of Asian versus western perceptions of risk
• The big debate: developed versus developing markets
• Yield compression in real estate markets: enjoy the ride, beware the destination
